Il 2 giugno 1906 nasceva Carlo Scarpa, uno dei più grandi architetti italiani. Il suo legame con Firenze si esplica nel riallestimento negli anni '50 delle sale dei Primitivi degli Uffizi, insieme a Ignazio Gardella e Giovanni Michelucci, realizzato per avere una percezione dinamica delle opere. Le aperture di passaggio sono state spostate ai lati delle sale, sono stati praticati tagli nelle murature e sono stati inseriti lucernari nella copertura o in corrispondenza dell'imposta delle capriate per rimodulare al meglio l'illuminazione naturale.

On the 2nd of June 1906, Carlo Scarpa, one of the greatest Italian architects, was born. His connection with Florence is represented by the rearrangement of the "sale dei Primitivi " he carried out in the 1950's. He worked at the project with Ignazio Gardella and Giovanni Michelucci and the objective was to create dynamic perception of the works of art which were exposed. The passages from one room to another were moved to the sides of the halls and new skylights were placed in order to make better use of natural light.
